Floyd Owen was first in the Owen Family to become interested in Rainbow Trout, he built the first farm, which was all dirt ponds on a clean mountain stream in 1978. Since this time The Owen family has raised trout in many locations.
In 1985, Morgan Mill Trout farm was built and it soon became the perfect trout fishing location .
Still today The Morgan Property due to its location is the most preferred public fishing ponds in Western North Carolina.
